THE POSITIVE EFFECT OF LIGSTROSIDE AGLYCONE ON BREAST CANCER CELLS

Olive secoiridoids and semisynthetic bioisostere analogues for the control of metastatic breast cancer
In 2013, Belnaser and his research team based on oleocanthal’s anti cancer activity, they examined the anticancer activity other phenolics like ligstroside aglycone. The researchers assessed the c-MET inhibitory activity as well as antiproliferative, antimigratory, and anti-invasive activities against the highly metastatic human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB231 of many olive oil phenolic constituents. Ligstroside aglycone showed the best antimigratory activity. Generally, tyrosol esters showed better activities versus carbamate analogues.. Olive oil secoiridoids are excellent
scaffolds for the design of novel c-MET inhibitors.
Ligstroside aglycone showed very good antimetastatic activity in experiments done on breast cancer cells.
