WORLD OLIVE DAY 2025 & NEW SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION
On 26 November, World Olive Day celebrates the tree that shaped Mediterranean culture for millennia. For Elettra, this day carries even deeper meaning this year, as it coincides with an important scientific milestone.

The second publication of the clinical study conducted at the Cardiology Department of the General Hospital of Messinia (Kalamata), with the exclusive administration of Elettra high-polyphenol organic extra virgin olive oil, has been released in the international scientific journal Nutrients.
The study did not evaluate a generic EVOO. It evaluated Elettra itself, under real clinical conditions, assessing its impact on endothelial and cardiovascular function.
The new scientific publication
The article bears the title:
“Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) Improves Vascular Endothelial Function and Hemodynamic Parameters in Patients with Hyperlipidemia:
A Post Hoc Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Trial.”
This publication expands the findings of the original trial, analyzing specific microcirculation markers using NIRS (Near Infrared Spectroscopy).
A total of 70 participants took part (50 hyperlipidemic patients and 20 healthy volunteers).
All consumed EVOO daily for 4 weeks.
The hyperlipidemic patients were randomized into two groups with equal polyphenol intake:
•high-polyphenol EVOO in a lower dose
•low-polyphenol EVOO in a higher dose
Key findings
Daily intake of Elettra led to:
Improved endothelial function
•Increased reperfusion rate
•Increased oxygen consumption rate
Improved hemodynamic markers
•Reduced diastolic blood pressure
•Reduced heart rate
Improved microcirculation
•Shorter maximum hyperemia time
•Shorter recovery time
A crucial observation
The group receiving high-polyphenol EVOO (Elettra) at a lower dose showed superior benefits compared to the group consuming a higher amount of low-polyphenol EVOO.
✔️ This confirms that quality and phenolic density outweigh quantity.

Connection with World Olive Day
World Olive Day carries a dual dimension:
1. Cultural & traditional
The olive tree as a symbol of peace, longevity and Mediterranean identity.
2. Scientific & clinical
Olive oil — especially high-polyphenol EVOO — now stands as a research-validated health tool, with measurable improvements in endothelial and cardiovascular function.
This study, conducted in the heart of Messinia, highlights that Greece can lead both culturally and scientifically.
Elettra: from tradition to science
Born from the land of Kleisoura, Elettra has evolved into a
research-driven, evidence-based brand connecting:
•Mediterranean tradition
•Messinian biodiversity
•high-quality organic cultivation
•and clinical research
The second publication of this study represents a milestone in this ongoing journey and confirms that the mission of Elettra has real clinical impact.
One day – two reasons for pride
On World Olive Day 2025, Elettra celebrates not only the tree of life,
but also the scientific validation of its value.
Messinia, the land of the olive, now offers not only a product —
but knowledge, research, and health.
